What is terp spray?

Terp spray is a concentrated blend of botanical terpenes packaged in a fine-mist atomizer, used to add aroma and flavor character to dry botanical material. Terpenes are the aromatic compounds plants produce naturally — the reason citrus peel, pine needles, and hops each smell the way they do. Terp Spray Official blends and bottles more than 50 profiles and ships worldwide.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are organic compounds built from isoprene units, produced by nearly every plant on earth. Over 30,000 have been identified. They are the active aromatic ingredient in essential oils and the flavor backbone of the food and beverage industry. Limonene comes from citrus, pinene from conifers, myrcene from hops and mangoes.

What's in the bottle?

Botanical terpenes and natural flavoring agents. No THC, no CBD, no controlled substances. We formulate exclusively from botanical sources — the same grade of aromatic input used across the food and fragrance industries.

How much should I use?

Start light and work your way up. You can always add more. You can never take spray away. That single rule matters more than any number below.

Spray from 12–18 inches away, toss or shake gently for even coverage, then seal the container and let it rest before you judge it. If you want more after that, add more.

Rough starting points by amount

Notice the rate drops as the amount goes up. That's intentional — a small pile has proportionally more surface area getting direct contact, so an eighth needs a heavier per-gram rate than a pound does. Averaging out to around 50 sprays per pound is what we personally like at bulk.

These are suggestions, not rules. Some people like it strong, some like it light. Treat the table as a floor, not a target, and adjust to your own taste from there.

How long should I wait after spraying?

Give it about 24 hours in a sealed container before you judge the result. Straight after application the deposit is uneven and the most volatile compounds are at their peak, so it will smell sharper and less balanced than it actually is. Resting lets the aroma settle and distribute through the enclosed air space. Judging it in the first ten minutes is the second most common mistake after over-spraying.

Will it make my material wet or cause mold?

Not if you apply it correctly. The whole point of a fine mist is that it deposits a thin film rather than soaking anything. Problems come from over-application — saturating material that's already at proper moisture, or spraying heavily and sealing it immediately.

Three rules keep you safe: only spray material that is properly dried and cured, use light passes rather than a soaking, and don't seal anything that feels damp to the touch. If it feels wet after spraying, you used far too much.

Why does mine smell harsh or chemical?

Almost always over-application, and it isn't reversible. Terpenes are concentrated; the difference between "rich" and "perfumey" can be two sprays. If a batch came out too strong, the only real fix is to blend it with untreated material.

The other common cause is judging too early. Give it the full rest period before deciding — a lot of batches that smell aggressive on day one settle into balance by day two.

Can I mix different flavors in one order?

Yes. Discounts and the free shipping threshold count your whole order, not individual flavors — so a mixed order qualifies exactly the same as buying one profile in bulk. Most customers build a rotation.

You can also layer profiles on the same material, though we'd suggest getting comfortable with single profiles first. Layering compounds the over-application risk.

How many sprays are in a bottle?

A 30 mL bottle delivers approximately 250 sprays. How far that goes depends entirely on how you're applying it — roughly five pounds at the bulk rate above, considerably less if you're doing small amounts at a time or spraying heavier than we suggest.

What makes Terp Spray different from cheaper terpene sprays?

Our profiles are layered blends rather than single-note flavorings. Cheap product smells exactly like its name for about four seconds and then smells like nothing, because it's all top note and no base. A blend with real sesquiterpene weight underneath keeps developing.

How do I know if a terpene spray is any good?

Buy one bottle and test it before committing. Four things tell you most of what you need to know:

• Does the sprayer actually atomize? A pump that spits, streams, or clogs after a few weeks means the formulation and hardware were never matched to each other.
• Does the profile have depth? Smell it at thirty seconds, not on first contact. Cheap blends collapse.
• Is it consistent batch to batch? Order the same profile twice a few months apart. Meaningful difference means no formulation control.
• Will they answer a technical question? If nobody can talk about what's actually in it, that tells you something.

Does terp spray contain THC or CBD?

No. Terp Spray Official products contain no cannabinoids and no controlled substances. They are botanical aroma and flavor extracts, and they are not intended for consumption by humans or animals.

Is it legal?

Our products contain no controlled substances. That said, regulations covering aromatic and herbal products vary by state and country, and we can't give legal advice about your specific situation. Check your local and state rules before purchasing or reselling.

Is terp spray flammable?

Yes. Store it sealed and upright in a cool, dry place, away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Never spray near anything lit.

How should I store it?

Sealed, upright, cool, and out of direct sunlight. Terpenes degrade three ways — oxidation from air exposure, heat, and UV light — and all three are avoidable. A cabinet or drawer at room temperature is ideal. A windowsill or a hot car is not.

Keep product in its original bottle. Terpenes are effective solvents and will degrade some plastics over time.

Does terp spray expire?

Terpenes don't spoil the way food does — they oxidize. Shelf life depends on storage rather than a fixed date. A sealed bottle kept cool and dark holds its profile for a long time; one left open on a warm shelf in sunlight can lose its brightest notes in weeks. The practical test is your nose: if it still smells true to profile, it's good.

Why does it smell stronger at first and fade later?

Because the lightest compounds evaporate first. Monoterpenes — limonene, pinene, terpinolene — are the most volatile fraction and produce the immediate top-note hit. Heavier sesquiterpenes evaporate slowly and carry the depth underneath. That's normal aroma chemistry, and blends with a real base hold their character considerably longer than top-heavy ones.

Which flavor should I start with?

Candy profiles are the most forgiving and the most broadly liked — Candy Pain, Peach Rings, Watermelon Bubblegum. Gas profiles like GMO Cookies and Green Apple Gas are the most polarizing and the easiest to overdo. If it's your first order, start candy.

Do I need the gun, or is the bottle enough?

The bottle is enough for most people. The gun earns its money when you're doing volume — quarter pound and up, regularly. At that scale the wider pattern saves real time and gives more consistent coverage than working across a large batch with a hand pump.

If you're treating an ounce here and there, stick with the bottle and spend the $34.99 on another flavor.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we ship worldwide.

Two things international customers should know. Customs duties and import taxes are set by your country and are the buyer's responsibility, not included in what you pay us. And because terpenes are flammable, some destinations and carriers restrict how they can move — transit times abroad run longer than domestic. If you're ordering from outside the US and want to check your destination before buying, email us first.

How fast do you ship?

Orders typically ship within 1–3 business days. Domestic delivery follows standard carrier timelines from there; international takes longer depending on destination and customs.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Email terpspray@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery and we'll sort out a replacement or credit. All sales are final once a bottle is opened, but a damaged or defective arrival is on us.

Can I resell Terp Spray?

Yes — a lot of our volume goes to shops and brands who resell. Reach out about wholesale pricing rather than buying at retail; the margin is meaningfully better. You're responsible for complying with the rules in your own market.

Can I get notified when a sold-out flavor returns?

Yes. Sold-out products stay listed with a notify option on the product page. Restock lists hear first, before we announce anywhere else.

My flavor has been sold out for a while — is it discontinued?

Usually not. Profiles sell out and come back; we make in batches rather than holding deep stock on all 50 at once. The fastest way to know is to put your email on the notify list for that product — that list is also how we decide what to restock first.
